Poor example of GE workmanship

This model isn™€™t as efficient as our previous Gas GE dryers. It takes longer to dry towels and other clothing. The lint trap rarely collects lint and is difficult to remove from the dryer. When I spoke to a GE representative about the lack of lint, I was told it was suppose to be blown out into the yard. I am very disappointed in the dryer and regret purchasing it

Not what I expected

I purchased this dryer 3 4 years ago expecting I will get quality from a well-known Appliance such as GE and I was highly mistaken it's hard to clean the lint trap and the door of the dryer does not close efficiently without reopening because where the lint trap is keeping the door from closing properly and leaving the clothes wet and having to retry over and over again very disappointed because I thought I was receiving top of the line and Appliance and it has been nothing but a headache

Needs improvement

On the surface this a nice simple dryer. Performance is decent. Simple old school design Good size The build quality leaves something to be desired. After 3 years the dryer stopped heating. After tearing down and testing various components it was determined that the gas valve coils were faulty. This seems premature to me. During the tear down I noticed that several of the panels are bent/ warped and out of spec and do not fit properly, one of the front panel screws was actually twisted during factory assembly. Trying to find parts was also difficult as GE only lists the entire gas valve assembly as a replaceable part instead of the coils. Which is extremely wasteful and expensive I found White-Rogers actually manufactures the gas valve and was able to get direct replacement gas valve coils from them. Areas for improvement Use higher quality components not subject to premature wear Include a service panel for easy access to components (most dryers used to do this) Better quality control during assembly, maybe move manufacturing back to the USA Better parts availability for service.

Does not dry!

Worst dryer ever! It does not dry! Sometimes it doesn't heat up and I have to restart it multiple times to get it to heat up. Extra cycles have to be run to get things to dry. The technician said the load was too big however it is a large load capacity and I have average size loads, haven't changed my load size, and it does it on all load sizes. My previous dryer dried quickly and efficiently and it was a smaller capacity so I dont buy that. It also makes a load noise when it starts that is obnoxious. I've had more issues in the 8 months I've had this one than a lifetime with my old original one. I will be calling to have someone to come out again. Terrible product.

This dryer is literally w workhorse at a super affordable price. I™€™ve had mine for several years and sometimes it™€™s running 12+ hours a day. Easy to fix and clean for the folks with a little handyman in them. You really don™€™t need those fancy & expensive units. Trust me, I™€™ve owned several.

Takes to long to dry. 4 pair of jean takes over 70 min. to dry and sometimes it needs an extra 20 min. Lint screen falling apart and lint goes down underneath the catcher.

Inconvenient pile of garbage

If I could give a -200 I would. This dryer is without question the biggest pile of garbage appliance that I have ever unfortunately owned in my life. First the timer goes, then the lint trap falls apart and then the belt broke. That's when it got worse. Took the dryer apart to install a new belt and the dryer has screeched and probably about caught on fire because the cheap, thin body panels all bent out of shape and the dryer has been my nemesis ever since. I can't wait to body slam this thing when I get a new one. Tell your family, friends, enemies, everyone; stay far away from GE Dryers.

This is a very good dryer. I like the setting options. My only complaint is it takes too long to dry towels, regardless of the size of the load. I empty the lint trap after every load, so that isn't a contributing factor.

The dryer was well needed business I purchased from had to replace the one I ordered and always comfortable with GE products. It™€™s well made metal typical white. The dials are easy to turn without any reaistance. The start button looks a lil cheap but will see how strong it is with daily use. It fits perfectly in my laundry room the correct size like specs said. The drum size is 7.2 which is nice for a large load of wash. There™€™s 5 different types of drying settings on the dryer with 3 levels of air temps to run them on. I will love this feature for delicates.

It doesn™€™t dry as fast as our other dryer needs everything on cotton. I don™€™t like the lint being in the door it doesn™€™t collect as much I like it at the top of the dryer. Also dislike the opening of the door on the side I like it to open out, so the clothes don™€™t fall out on the floor. The open front door I missed the Most.

This has been a terrible dryer for me. Purchased in 2020, I have had to call to have it repaired 4 times and it is broken again. This is the first appliance I have ever purchased brand new and it totally SUCKS. The heating element has gone out twice and now the button that you push to start it does not work. I™€™ve spent hundreds in having it serviced after the warranty ran out. I could have gone to the laundromat for my entire life for what I paid to purchase and have this model repaired. I do NOT recommend this product.

This dryer should either be taken off the market or specifically marketed to people who are hard of hearing. Why? Because it has the loudest and longest dryer buzzer money can buy, and it cannot be disabled without voiding the warranty. Over 100 reviews of this dryer complain about the buzzer. It should be illegal to sell dryers with such stupid loud buzzers that cannot be switched off. On the other hand I suppose I should cut GE some slack, as they have probably only been making dryers for like 50 years. Join me in reporting this product to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission at saferproducts.gov

I am satisfied with the purchase of the dryer except for the dryer buzzer at the end of the cycle. The buzzer buzzes 2 times each at a loud buzz for 15 seconds each. The only way to stop this is to go in the back of the dryer and disconnect wires. I am 95 years old and I cannot do that. I guess I can hear the dryer stop. If I miss the first buzz there is always a second reminder.
