I purchased this GE appliance expecting the quality and reliability the brand claims, but it broke down well before it should have. This unit is not old, yet I™™m already dealing with major issues that make it completely unusable.
I™™ve owned appliances from companies like Samsung and Whirlpool in the past, and I never experienced anything like this. Those brands have proven reliable over years of regular use, so it™™s incredibly frustrating to have a GE product fail so quickly.
Honestly, I cannot recommend GE appliances based on my experience. If you want a product that lasts and doesn™™t cause unnecessary headaches, I would look elsewhere. Save yourself the time, stress, and money I definitely wish I had.

Loved this refrigerator however the electronic control panel no longer works! I cant dispense water nor ice cubes & can not adjust the temp in freezer nor refrigerator.
Price paid for less than 5 year usage is high. GE Appliances don't last longer than 5 years now??? My range has similar issues... stove top temp is ALWAYS high no matter what setting your using!

We moved into a new place that has this refrigerator and we love it, it is missing a couple of shelves from the door but its great easy to use and change thebsettings on the freezer door

Excellent refrigerator and freezer! I have had it for 3 years and no issues, knock on wood. Filter is available and easy to change. Shelves are well made and well placed.

Excellent Product !!!
Only issue is the plate to catch the excess water drippage from water and ice maker is turn outward instead of inward. This is a design flaw of the developer.

My $2,600 6-yr old LG French Door died, repair person said 1-of multiple Circuit boards is bad only way to fix is to buy new boards until the correct one is found! Repair person said it would be cheaper to buy a new one! How disappointing to hear! Found this GE Side-by-side at local Scratch/dent and Love it!

We love this refrigerator and had an extended warranty now that the warranty is out the freezer is getting cold but not freezing. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this and have tried everything every forum has told me. I am at a loss and really don't have the extra money to purchase a new refrigerator. Help!

This fridge seems to be great thus far with the exception of awkward light placement. Dome light on top shelf prevents the ability to put certain height beverages on top shelf, ie sodas or tall beverages like wine bottles. Other then that, love it

Pro 1: There's overall good space inside the fridge.
Pro 2: Love the door sound alert.
Pro 3: Water filter is good. Water tastes great.
Pro 4: Freezer is cold and pretty spaceous.
Con 1: But not enough shelving. Had to buy an extra door shelf because it looked like a large gap between them. The extra shelf helped a lot.
Con 2: Makes a lot more noise than I want it to. I've had it for a few months now and a new, odd dinking noise from the back started and lasted for about 25 mins. It sounds like how it would sound if a small plastic fan blade was hitting against something (not that I know what it is). I don't know if it will continue but I hope not.
Con 3: Front doors are a different material from the sides of the fridge. It is shiny and picks up so much dirt and smudges. Constantly having to clean.
Con 4: The top light inside the fridge is so big and it's annoying to have to put items around it. A smaller or flatter LED would have been nicer.
Con 5: There's not too much house traffic, so opening and closing the door isn't a big activity. But I did notice that condensation is seen in the back of the fridge often, which will later freeze. I have to wipe away the condensation often so that I don't have a layer of frozen dots or a sheet layer of ice there. I've played around with the temperature a bit and found that 37 degrees seems to be ideal to prevent this...but I still have to wipe away the condensation or ice more than I want to. I've never had this issue with a fridge before.

So far we like our new GE refrigerator. The only down side for us so far is the shiny, mirror like finish. We were expecting the textured finish that G.E. used to have. This one shows every fingerprint and is so easy to damage. I used a dp paper towel on a smudge and left a permanent dull spot.

We really like our new shiny black double door refrigerator. "Darth Vader" is its nickname. Rising from our kitchen like a force to be reckoned with. Open clean spaces and modern led lighting to die for. Ice maker and water spout so very convenient and tactfully simple. Clean and great tasting water every time. No worry about electronics going bad here, like in so many other model reviews. It's so much quieter than the last Frigidaire model, it's like its not even there. The digital temperature controls are simple and easy to use. GE is always my first choice and buying American is what we should all do now a days. Keep making stellar new products and thanks for the kitchen upgrade. Stove top next)).

Replaced frig top of the line, should I say the name. Starts with L and ends with G....Big mistake...After 2 years bought the GE frig and it is absolutely beautiful. It makes lots of ice which my wife loves..Just bought GE microwave,

The unit appears to be functioning properly. Set up was fairly easy. Only issue so far is the ice cube dispenser. It king of shoots the cubes out kind of forcefull and sometimes misses the cup or container. Plus it takes a while before cubes start to dispense.

Doors are crooked, freezer temperature is stuck at 10 degrees, despite repeatedly setting it at 0. Frost all over interior of freezer, moisture on both outside doors at bottom. Plastic wrapping hid the three large deep obvious scratches on the front of both doors- fridge was wrapped by GE!
This fridge was manufactured over 2 years ago- there's a shortage now-this was most likely a 'seconds' and sold to me as 'new'. Very little usable space in the freezer because too few shelves- skimpy shelves have no front lip so items in soft bags fall off shelves. I'd like to chuck this into the garbage where it belongs but can only exchange for same model. Replacement coming Nov. 17 so no working freezer till then and frankly I'd like to get different brand- I have no trust in GE doing anything right. This model is badly designed and freezzer doesn't freeze.

It™™s taking a bit of getting used to in going from the classic fridge with the single door freezer on top and the single door fridge on the bottom, but overall, I couldn™™t be happier with this fridge! I love having the water and ice in the door, and the basket on the bottom of the freezer is wonderful too!
