We purchase the appliances for the residents living in our community and this is one I would NEVER purchase again. I am glad to see that it has been discontinued. The reviews that have been posted are what this refrigerator is what I would have posted also. It is now just an expensive piece of metal sitting in our shop. I can't even give it away. Had to purchase a different one for our resident.

replaced a 12 year old whirlpool that was well designed. this GE icemaker doesn't make ice half as fast ( i now have to buy ice to fill the dispenser during busy times). because the icemaker is mounted to the door instead of inside the cabinet the shelves on the left door are virtually useless. I have to set the temp at 41 degrees or it freezes the eggs and produce. it is also loud when the compressor is running.

I had to buy this one because it was the only one in the store that would fit in my kitchen. The doors will not stay open and keep hitting me on the arms when I'm putting food in and out of it. I hate that. Bottom freezer is ok, I'm just not used to it. I had a side by side prior to this one. I loved it. I never, ever thought I would have to pay $3000 for a refrigerator either!! We like the refrigerator size and style. It is perfect for how we use it. The only issue we are having is that it goes into defrost mode often and ice builds up on both the refrigerator and freezer doors to the point that we cannot close them properly. We unplugged and then plugged it back it to get it to move out of this mode a week ago. So far it was working ok but we will continue to monitor.
