I™€™ve had this washer for about 2 years now and have always had issues with the doors on both the washer and dryer not latching properly. The washer will wind up as if it™€™s starting, start to fill with water, then tell you the cycle is done without washing your clothes. If you don™€™t notice right away, it can be a really confusing bummer to come back to slightly wet but unwashed clothes. The dryer is even worse because plastic in the front is coming off in addition to just being difficult to close. Also, the WiFi connection is super inconsistent now. When it works, it works great. It washes and dries my clothes well. It just feels like it won™€™t last. Next time I™€™ll fork up the extra money on a SQ.

Weird gasket coming loose in dryer drum

I have searched everywhere for a decent diagram and parts list but everyone I have found is missing at least the part I need. For some reason, a felt drum gasket (?) has started to come off into the drum and I cannot find a replacement listing anywhere, GE Appliance website or Bodewell. We bought this in May 2023 and after a repair to the control board another part broke in the electric panels. We spent $500 on repairs only then deciding to buy a new washer. We only had it for about 31 months and paid $1200. Buy at your own risk.

This drier is beautiful, however it never worked very well. I should have returned as it does not heat up much. Can only run on the time cycle. The moisture sensing dosnt work as the clothes are still very wet when using it. The noise level is low so that is not an issue. The capacity is great. The steam cycle only makes the clothes wet. The matching washer works great with no issues

Dryer bearings, slides, and/or drum belt have failed after only 2 years and light use with only a family of 2. The dryer has gradually become VERY loud when spinning -- to the point where you cannot responsibly use it.

Great dryer, it is efficient has a ton of features that are usable in day-to-day use. We've had no issues so far! It's capacity pretty much handles anything we throw in it. From duvets, to shoes. The only feature I haven't used is the steam option as I just haven't hooked it up yet.

I am thinking I will never buy GE again. I have had this dryer less than 5 years and it broke. My service person has practically rebuilt it. Two new main boards, 2 new motors and it still doesn't work. Bad enough but customer service has been horrible. I don't expect warranty but I do expect it should be fixable. I call customer service wait a half hour and it randomly hangs me up. I see it's no longer being made. Is it because it's so bad? It should be a recall then.

This is a flawed dryer :(

I've had GE dryers for many years, and unfortunately this one is flawed in a two major ways. 1) There's a 50% chance that anything with drawstrings will somehow get those strings twisted beyond repair inside the dryer. This has never happened with any dryer I've ever had, but with this dryer drawstrings in hoodies, pants, etc. tend to get twisted so many times while drying that you can't undo the damage. It's endlessly frustrating and has ruined nearly a dozen articles of our clothing. And 2) the lint trap is annoying to clean. I read this in another review but took my chances anyway-- the lint trap can't be taken out with one hand and cleaned with the other, instead you need to lay it down on the ground or a shelf to hold it open with one hand, and then you can clean it with the other. Such a simple thing is wildly frustrating when doing laundry. I'm sure they had a good reason to switch to this type of lint trap, but they clearly did not test the design with actual humans.

Dryer looks nice but after 16 months, the dryer began making a banging sound - even when there is no load in the dryer. We have not used dryer for heavy loads and we still measure a 27" diameter across all interior surfaces - so we are not sure exactly the cause. Our local service person indicated a warped drum that would cost over $600 and is on backorder. We could not be more disappointed.

Washer doesn™€™t wet clothes - many times they come out perfectly dry and you can see where the water touched them - this is with normal and small loads alike. The dryer doesn™€™t like to work - wasn™€™t sure if it doesn™€™t like my touch. the power and start buttons don™€™t like me - otherwise i can change settings but it won™€™t turn on. the dryer issue started just before my one year mark of owning but i didn™€™t report in time, so now no warranty. Now i see this unit went on clearance and is no longer being produced. i wonder why?

We purchased this washer 11/15/21 and are now in the market for new dryer. The front plastic door area was coming off, so we had it replaced 9/23/24. Now, one of the main parts has completed broken off inside the dryer (pics attached). We had to go out and buy push fastener to "plug up" the hole. Poorly made, so we now have to buy a new dryer less than 3 years after purchasing this.

Owned for over a year now. SmartHQ App allows only extended tumble, but cannot simply start or stop the dryer. The lint screen is poorly manufactured and flimsy. We have to vacuum out the lint that gets caught past the lint screen for our laundry not to take 3 hours each day to dry, and this is after maximum spin, regular size load. Inefficient and uses a ton of energy, running up electric bill. The only positive thing to say is the app notifications are useful.

My clothes aren™€™t dry and my drum cracked at 1yr!

This is the second GE dryer that we have bought. We sold our previous house, so we wanted to get the same dryer as we had been happy with our previous one. This Dryer has been faulty from the beginning. I thought initially that The settings might be slightly different, as our clothes never seemed completely dry with each load. As nothing was broke, there wasn™€™t much I could do. After year and one month of use, our dryer started making a banging sound with each rotation. After opening up the dryer, we realize that the seam of the drum had started separating, and entire chunks of the drum were missing near the seam. We are a family of five, and the only items that have been inside of the dryer have been made of fabric. The product was obviously defective from the beginning, and unfortunately the limited warranty of one year had already expired. I am hoping that I am the only one that got a defective product, as I have been very satisfied with my GE products in the past. I felt a review was warranted in case I am not the only one having to buy a whole new dryer after one year.

Works great - we run 4 loads minimum each day of towels - the dryer works efficiently. Cut down drying time by 20 minutes over our old samsung dryer. Handles 2 wash loads at a time. Love the lobby basket as opposed to a lint screen. It catches far more lint and makes cleaning easy.

not only does it not dry in one load, the lint trap is impossible to clean as it has so many nooks and crannies and lets a lot of micro-bits of lint into the space under the lint trap and probably into the hose and wall too, scary and probably a fire hazard.

Dryer Vent Issue

It's great except one thing. The dryer vent that you clean after every load. My first one cracked in the middle where it bends on both sides and it doesn't fit snug so there is a lot of build up that drops down into the machine that is not easily accessible but so flammable I worry about a fire!. Fred's appliances sent a handyman so idk if it was there's or GE but he said he brought the wrong replacement vent. He came a few weeks later with the correct part and within days maybe a week it was cracked again and still doesn't fit they way it should.

Super glad I purchased this set. Just connected the wifi yesterday and that's been interesting. Nice to know when it's done as I didn't always hear the tone.

This dryer does not dry well I have to run at least 2 hrs to dry simple loads. The steam function just wets the clothes. I bought because I loved the color. But never had a dryer that took so long to dry clothes.

Love the features! Thank goodness I bought extended warranty! Have had several issues just outside of warranty. This was a COVID purchase so I am hoping quality has improved.
