No Water or Ice.

My Frig has been installed less than 3 years. just after 1 year the water & Ice dispensers stopped and it stopped making ice. These worked sporadically. The time not working got longer. Now the control panel has a red triangle on it and is inaccessible. Word on the street is that new appliances have a high failure rate, More often when they have a lot of features. The features are nice but not useful. was but no change. A tech looked at it, updated The software and it seems to point to one of the computer board. Can't get a main board now.

I paid $2700 for this fridge after researching all of the other fridge's out there. I chose to buy all GE appliances for my new kitchen and I am so disgusted. I have had to replace parts in my feeezer twice and now the fridge is dead. GE told me the soonest they can come out is in 8 days . All of my food has gone bad, my garbage disposal has been replaced and still runs like crap and my GE dishwasher is the louder than the one I replaced from 1987. I am not a happy customer and GE is going to wave the 119$ fee to come service it and give me 20% off parts. All this after spending $6000 for appliances.

I wanted to wait until I find out if the service company can fix my fridge before writing a review, but the more I thought about it, the more disappointed I became. This fridge was delivered on 10/24. Yesterday, it started making an odd noise and this morning, it wasn't cooling or freezing. All of my food is garbage. I'm hoping this is covered under warranty. I'd love to be able to redo this review if they can fix it and it's free, and spending $2,200 for a fridge to work for 2.5 months is ridiculous.

Love my Slate French Door GE Fridge with the Door-in-Door. The door-in-door makes it very easy for accessing highly used items without opening the entire fridge. And the Slate shows NO fingerprints. Lots of space in the fridge and the freezer. Although Fridge can't really accommodate very tall bottles - need to be placed in door or laying on side. 2 negative comments: Small ice maker. And not easy replacing the water filter.

Shelves turn brown

I am so frustrated with the fridge we have only had it a little over a year and the shelf above the drawers has turned brown basically from the glue they used and there is no way to clean it because the glass does not pop out. So now I am stuck with a fridge that looks like coffee was spilled all in it. It's is also not quiet it makes a constant humming sound. The other draw back is the water dispenser, there is no where for the dripped water to collect so its just runs off or collects on the bottom leaving water marks.

This fridge was easy to use and was easy to finid the items we wanted, with plenty of lighting and space, both in fridge and the freezer. Instant ice and cold water right out of the fridge, not lukewarm! Convenient to open outside door to reach for milk etc without opening the whole door thus saving energy and being quick to retrieve item quickly from door.

Ok so love the aesthetic of this and the general organization. I am very pleased with all the functionality. Given a bunch of problems in the past with Samsung (perpetually froze ice maker) and Kitchen Aid, am really happy with this. Only concern is it does rattle at times.

We love this fridge. There's so much space in fridge and the freezer is spacious. It keeps our veggies fresh for up to 2 weeks and our fruit for longer! Love the look as well. Very modern. The ONLY set back we've had is that the waterline has frozen multiple times. However, we fixed it with tinfoil in the ice compartment and keeping the airflow open through the left side of the deli drawer.

We have only had our refrigerator a few months and the ice maker is already broken. Also, on our old GE refrigerator, the water dispenser told you how many ounces you were getting. The new one was much more expensive and doesn't have that feature.

Bought this on a recommendation from consumer reports. It does not cool well and there is a lot of condensation inside. Setting the temperature even lower than the recommended 37 degrees won't get it below 40 degrees inside or get rid of the condensation. The fridge is not even a month old.

We have replaced our first GE Fridge with another one. Love the door in door feature. I do miss the split shelf that was available on the last model. Our first purchase included the 2nd ice maker in the bottom freezer. This is no longer an automatic option so we will have to hire someone to install when the part is available ( currently out of stock). Love all the features of the fridge. Accessibilty, lighting and easy to clean.

I love the size, color and style of this refrigerator, but i it is rather noisy, something I'm not used to with a GE product. The control pane is not backlit so you can only see lights in the dark, not what those lights correspond to.

I confess that I bought this frig only because it was in-stock and my 20 year old unit died. I'm not that impressed with the door-in-door feature but it's OK. I like the large capacity and the low profile ice maker. The slate finish is really beautiful. Now the "but": I would really like a dairy module. You know what I mean. The little shelf with the flip up lid that keeps the butter and margarine handy. I'm a cook and I am always in and out of the frig for an extra pat when I'm cooking. Is there any way GE could make that an option for one of the door shelves. Would really love it.
