Terrible appliance! First, it's very very loud and it doesn't really do a great job of cleaning and drying. As most reviews point out, the racks rust and break off very quickly! The handle started off feeling kind of loose, but eventually a piece fell off and now its officially broken :( I am assuming there's a reason they aren't making this product anymore but now I can't figure out how to order new racks and a handle!

We moved to a brand new apartment a few years ago and all units had the GE® ENERGY STAR® Top Control Dishwasher with Plastic Interior and had a terrible experience with it. After just about 3 years, the machine started breaking down. Both the top and bottom shelves began rusting badly, which is completely unacceptable for a dishwasher at this price point. Customer service was also extremely disappointing and unhelpful. Two of my neighbors experienced the exact same issue and requested replacement shelves and only one of them actually received one. The inconsistency and lack of support were very frustrating. I will not be purchasing a GE appliance again. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I cannot recommend this dishwasher.

In my experience, GE products have been unreliable, and the customer service has been very disappointing. When I spoke with Nicole, she treated me as if I were an inconvenience rather than a customer with a legitimate concern about a GE product. The appliance failed in less than three years despite being used only a handful of times per year in a vacation home, which seems unreasonable for such light use. Even though I am outside the standard one™year warranty that GE typically offers on many appliances, the product™™s early failure makes me question its quality and longevity. This stopped working after 4 1/2 years with very gentle use. Seems to be an electrical issue as I was able to get it powered again after flipping the breaker and waiting a few days. However, now it™™s 6 months later and no such luck. I tried everything including the reset, no power no matter what I do. I checked the computer board under the kick plate and all wires, no disconnects there or obvious issues. I do not recommend!

I built a house in the fall of 2020 and installed all GE appliances, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/ dryer, oven/ microwave, stovetop/ hood. All together around $10K worth of appliances. The refrigerator's ice dispensing feature stopped working in 2023. Till now, I dealt with it and just chalked it up to something faulty. Just recently my dishwasher stopped working. It powers on starts the prerinse but when it comes time to start washing, doesn't do anything. I can hear the machine click but nothing happens. Not too thrilled about GE appliances at this point.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a GE appliance that installed in my newly built home. From the very beginning, I have encountered numerous issues, including wheels constantly breaking and falling off, as well as the brackets holding the racks breaking. The overall quality of the product has been very disappointing. Now, less than 5 years after installation, the appliance has stopped working entirely. As someone who has outfitted my home with all GE appliances, I am quite frustrated by these repeated issues. To make matters worse the warranty expired. At this point, I am in the process of gradually replacing my GE appliances with products from another brand due to these ongoing problems. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide in resolving this matter.

This model appears to be faulty. Like other reviews, this dishwasher came with a Lennar new build in 2019. Over the last year, it would randomly chime and then stop working. I™™d reset my breaker and unplug the unit. It would randomly work again. It conveniently died on Thanksgiving™"first world problems. Rated 2 stars because it lasted less than 5 years and the bottom rack started rusting around 3 years.

I bought my house brand new in 2020 and this dishwasher came with it. So 4 years old and the dishwasher will not turn on. We had it serviced and they are saying it is the electrical control board that is faulty and now broken. They ordered a replacement part for it and it is backordered because they no longer make this product and it'll take up to 6 weeks to get a new part! That is 8 weeks without a dishwasher with having 2 toddlers in the home and the holidays coming up. UNACCEPTABLE. Do not buy this product if you can find it anywhere.

This is very disappointing. Our house was built in 2020 and all the appliances are GE. So far, my microwave stopped working all of a sudden a couple of months ago and now my dishwasher has stopped turning on. It has happened a couple of times before that it stops turning on, then a couple of days go by and then it turns on and works fine. Then again, it stops working. On and off. Now, it's been a week and it doesn't turn on!

We™™ve only had this machine 3.5 years and it has begun randomly beeping, at random intervals. All attempts at troubleshooting have failed. I don™™t know if it is just a beep, or an indicator that something is wrong. It still seems to run fine. Online forums suggest it needs a new UI board or a firmware update. Don™™t know anything about either of those. But it says to repair it fast or it will stop working all together. We already had to have a service call on it once, which turned out to be a clogged filter behind a panel that the repairman could only access by laying on the ground. We clean the inside filter. How were we to know we needed to remove a panel and clean a second filter?! Appliances just aren™™t made how they used to be. Very disappointed. Never buying GE again.

5 Years Old - Rust & Broken Circuit Board

My dishwasher is only 5 years old and rust on the racks started to take over about 2 years ago. Last month it stopped washing all the way through the cycle and would randomly beep. Yesterday it wouldn™™t turn on or light up despite checking the breaker and troubleshooting all possible issues. I don™™t think these are made well or intended to last past 3 / 4 years. I always used to trust GE but this is all around disappointing. I thought it was just a lemon until I came here to find so many similar complaints. Between the health concerns with the rust and circuit board likely needing to be replaced the cost to repair is more than a replacement. Frustrating is an understatement with this model and GE.

We have always loved GE. We have a washer and dryer that™™s excellent! We™™d like to think we™™re pretty smart (my husband and I are teachers) but we totally didn™™t check the inside of the dishwasher till we moved into our rental home. We are so upset to see the state of the dishwasher! The owners say that this was purchased within the last few years but the racks are completely rusted and the prongs are falling off :( We have a 6 week old baby and we can™™t even wash his bottles here to sanitize cause we dont want rust getting in them. We called GE and since we didn™™t purchase these ourselves, we have no receipts and we are just so disappointed! Even more so upset to see that it™™s been discontinued and that buying the replacement racks on Amazon is so expensive: between 100-128 per rack! Big miss, GE :(

Both the bottom and top Rack have completely rusted out. Prongs for standing plates have rusted off completely. Got this dishwasher from our builder. Within right the first year water pump started leaking water. I discovered that the plastic lock mechanism was broken when it was installed and since they only give you 1 year of warranty they did not want to fix it. Fast forward to today™™s day the appliance is less than 3 years old. It just stopped working. Runs for 2 min and stops, it doesn™™t want to start till you drain the water and it™™s a cycle that doesn™™t start washing. GE WANTED ME TO PAY FOR A VIST OF $114.95 JUST FOR THE VISIT. (**DOES NOT INCLUDE PARTS**) DO NOT BUY GE AND BUY OTHER BETTER PRODUCTS THAT ACTUALLY CARE FOR THE CUSTOMER AND GIVE YOU GOOD WARRANTY

Will not run a a full cycle. The water collects at the bottom will drain but then the water goes right back in. The dishwasher just makes a humming noise and never runs a cycle just hums tried resetting making sure nothing is block still not thing even tried leaving unplugged over night and nothing will not buy an GE ever again.

Rusty racks and wash issues

This dishwasher is 4 years old and came with my new construction house. The upper and lower racks in this dishwasher started to rust after only 3 years. To have the racks rusting this quickly was a huge disappointment. I would not recommend purchasing this due to this issue. In addition, the dishwasher cannot make it through a wash cycle without tripping the GFCI outlet anymore. This problem started about a month ago. The rinse cycle is the only one that will operate. A huge disappointment from a product only 4 years old. I thought a GE product would have performed better than this.

We got our dishwasher with the purchase of our home 4yrs ago ,have used it 10 times stopped working out of nowhere... will definitely not be purchasing anymore GE products!!!!!

I got this dishwasher with new home. I have issues with the rubber seal around the door falling off since 6 months. The repair guy said to just tuck it back in. I never had this issue before...I have to fix it daily or the water will come out door when running. I'm ordering a new rubber part...but I think I will replace the dishwasher.

Very poor performance. Doesn't wash clean and Doesn't come on when needed. Has a mind of its own. Doesn't come on when needed. Will not recommend.

Garbage is worth more

Pile of rusted garbage only 2 years of ownership. This piense of garbage will make you have to buy new top and bottom racks after only 2 years of ownership. Maybe less of you oh attention and notice your top and bottom racks costing is not only coming off but the metal parts that are supposed to be coated so they don™™t corrode are now falling off from the rust. Never ever have I had a dishwasher even after 10 plus years have these issues. I called GE and they tell me Yes we are aware so you can buy a new top rack for $70 plus shipping and a new lower for $96 plus shipping and we no longer make the crap racks we did when you bought yours. That should be replaced at no cost.

I have had this product for about 3 years. The top panel fell off about a year or so after purchasing it. We tried to replace it, but it appears you have to take off the entire door for the panel to be put back into place. We lived with that flaw. Flash forward to present: The dishwasher does not turn on at all. We have tried all sorts of resets, called into GE, and now, because it is out of warranty have to pay to have it repaired. At this point, it looks like we will have to purchase a new one. Did not expect a GE product to not work anyone after such a short amount of time.
